  • "Together in Time: A Story of New England Contra Dance Music and Dance", by Steve Alves.  Explores the history of country dancing during the past 350 years and gives a picture of the current contra dance scene in New England.  30 minutes. DVD/ Video available from Great Meadows Music and CDSS.

 

 

    • "Paid To Eat Ice Cream": Journeys through the last 60 years of contra dancing, and chronicles over 60 years of Bob McQuillen's contributions to contra music and community.  70 minutes.

 

    • "What's Not to Like? A Community Contra Dance",  Live footage at a local Vermont contra dance, plus interviews with musicians and dancers about why they love this particular activity.  Lots of toe-tapping music, and a nice picture of different ages and abilities dancing together.  20 minutes.

 

  • "The Other Way Back - Dancing with Dudley", tribute to Dudley Laufman's key role in the revival of Contra dancing in the 1960s and 1970s in New England and then across the country. 99 minutes, plus two hour bonus disk.  DVD available from David Millstone* directly, Great Meadows Music and CDSS

 

  • Great Meadows Music - dedicated to New England style contra dance music and the artist who perform it.  CDs, books, videos/ DVDs online bookstore.

 

  • Cyber Yankee's Contracopia - a great source for contra dance recordings including a wide selection with music samples from each CD.
